John Donaldson

John L. “Jack” Donaldson, 80, of Warren, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Jack was born June 16, 1936, in Jamestown, NY. He was the son of the late Leonhart T. and Helen (Baird) Donaldson.

Jack was a 1954 graduate of Warren High School, and a 1957 graduate of Penn State.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where he was involved with the choir and church council. He served on the Warren Borough Council, the Warren County School Board, and served two terms as Warren County Commissioner.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elliott Donaldson, whom he married June 29, 1957, in Warren; five children, Michael (Mary), Eric (Ilene), Mark (Sarana), Jennifer (Michael), and Amy (Armando); one brother, Craig (Judy); grandchildren, Christopher (Katherine), Kevin (Madie), Kasey, Bobby, Jonathon, Matthew, Tyler, Alec (Jez), Sarah (Christopher), Arnel, Austin, Addison, Gabe and Jake; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah Christine Donaldson; and two siblings, Kurt Donaldson and Mary Leman.

A memorial service will be held in the spring and will be announced at a later date.
