Virginia Myers
Virginia Annette Plum Myers passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the age of 92 in Albuquerque, NM.
Ginnie was born September 1, 1926, to the late Charles Risdon and Mable Oldershaw Plum. She was a graduate of Moorestown, NJ High School Class of 1944 and a graduate of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Class of 1947 graduating as a registered nurse and served as a member of the V.S. Cadet Nurse Corp.
Ginnie was a long time resident of Warren residing there from 1949 through 2012. She served as a staff nurse at Warren General Hospital from 1953 to 1984 and also at the Warren Dental Arts Hospital. She served as an office nurse for the late Dr. William S. Walters from 1984 to 1988.
She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and a leader in the church society work area. Ginnie also served on the Church music committee, was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class and a coordinator of the church Sharing Place.
Ginnie was a life member of the Alumni Association of School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. She was a member and officer of the Draggin Wheels Square Dance Club and former charter member and officer of the Fifth Wheel. She served as chairperson of the Warren County Assistance office and was a volunteer and former president with the Warren County Hot Line Board. She also was a longtime volunteer and a former board member of Hospice of Warren County. Ginnie served on the Advisory Board and was a member of the Warren Senior Center and was a former board member of Experience, Inc.
Ginnie is survived by two sons Jeffery B. Myers of San Diego, CA with wife Carmen and Col (Ret) USAF Gregory A. Myers of Albuquerque, NM with wife Sherry; three grandchildren: Spencer Myers, Joshua Myers, and Anne Ryals; and niece Dawn Jordan.
In addition to her parents, Ginnie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul Werner Myers who passed on January 9, 2002, her son Bruce Paul Myers who died on December 19, 1985, and sister Patricia Rankin who passed in 1985.
