Linda York

Linda Sue York, 69, of Matthews Run Road, Sugar Grove, PA died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Rouse Home in Youngsville. Born February 21, 1950, in Jamestown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Milton W. and Patricia Wood York. Linda graduated in the class of 1968 at Eisenhower High School where she remained very active over the years attending sporting events faithfully, especially enjoying her nieces’ games. She always made herself available volunteering with the Eisenhower Marching Band in various capacities, helping however she was needed. She was a member of the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary for many years and also served as secretary of the Fire Police. She was also a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church where she served as a trustee for many years. Linda was a very talented floral designer having designed arrangements for local events, weddings, and funerals for many years. She will be remembered fondly by the Sugar Grove Community as “Aunt Linda”. Linda was retired from her employment at PennDOT where she was a clerk/Secretary for many years. She will be missed by her loving nieces, Renee (Matt) Haight of Russell, Heather (Terry) York of Sugar Grove and Kristy (Jason) Kuzminski of Sugar Grove and 3 other nieces and 3 other nephews; 3 great nieces, Shelby Kuzminski, Halle Kuzminski and Rowyn Haight; 3 great-nephews, Andrew Haight, Gavin Haight and Kahle Kuzminski; her brother, Randall York, Sr. of Sugar Grove; and her dog, Miley. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Larry York; a sister, Robin York Johnson; and a great-niece, Katerin Kuzminski. Friends will be received for visiting hours at the Sugar Grove Branch of McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc. on Saturday, July 6th from 5 8 pm where a funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Chandlers Valley Cemetery and will be private. The family suggests those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
