Carolyn Green

Carolyn J. Green, 83, of Pittsfield, passed away Wednesday April 22, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie.

Carolyn was born January 9, 1937 in Erie, to the late Glenn and Florence (McGaughy) Crum. She had worked as a medical transcriptionist for a number of years. Carolyn was a member of Evangelical United Methodist , serving on a number of Committees. She was a long standing member of The Order of the Eastern Star, holding titles of: past Matron and past District Deputy of the PA chapter. She enjoyed painting and crafts and taught a toll painting class to many people in the area and participated in the Wild Wind Festival for 20 years. She enjoyed the outdoors very much, boating, fishing and camping from Florida to Maine. She also loved to travel. She had traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe even passing through the Panama Canal. Her more notable travels included taking her entire family on a cruise and tour of the Hawaiin Islands for her 50th wedding anniversary and a 6 week camping tour of the National parks out West. But her greatest joy, was her family. She had a strong maternal instinct and loved spending time with them. She was a giving person and will be missed by all that knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Robert Green, whom she married, September 8, 1958 in Erie, PA, her children, Elizabeth Susan Anderson, of Pittsfield, Scott and Kathy Green of Pittsfield, and Kevin and Patricia Green of Erie, a sister, Barbara (Andy) Gall of Erie, her grand children, Tyler and Fatima, Jessica, Matt and Sarah, Emmalee, April and Nate, Brian and Katie, and great grandchildren, Logan and Lucas, Eden and Solomon.

Due to the current conditions, a memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. Burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery in Pittsfield. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the EUM Church 18 2nd St. Youngsville, PA 16371.

The Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Youngsville have been entrusted with all arrangements.
