David Wanner

David G. Wanner, 81, of Russell, Pa., passed away at his home on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021.

Born on July 21, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of the late Albert and Lucille Kneidler Wanner.

David was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., and later from the Institute for the Crippled and Disabled in New York City. He owned Green Prosthetics in Erie, Pa., from 1974 until 2002 and was very devoted to his patients.

He was a member of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Warren.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, painting, and building model ships. He had a great sense of humor and was a very devoted husband.

David is survived by his wife, Barbara Meadows Wanner, whom he married on Oct. 27, 1962, in Pittsburgh, Pa.; six children: Debra Vaughn and her husband, Robert, of Corry, Pa., David Wanner Jr. and his wife, Lorna, of Copper Hill, Va., Albert J. Wanner and his wife, Imelda, of Saegertown, Pa., Michelle Loehrke and her husband, James, of Edinboro, Pa., Daniel Wanner of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Scott Wanner and his wife, Stephenie, of Erie, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; one sister, Aurelia Dilla and one brother, John Wanner, both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Marylu Eiben; and a brother, Albert Wanner.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
