Kenneth L. Hancock

Kenneth L. Hancock was a caring and generous father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at age 77, after an extended battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his children who will miss him deeply as a father and a friend.
Ken was born January 29, 1944, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Harry E. Hancock and Virginia Raisor Hancock Albaugh. Ken was baptized into the Episcopal Church, grew up in Kinzua and lived most of his life in Warren and East Hickory. Prior to retirement, Ken was employed as a truck driver and at Struthers Wells as a welder. He never missed an opportunity to attend the Kinzua reunion. He enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets and dirt track racing. Later in life, he astounded friends and family with his self-discipline and dedication as an avid runner, participating in various races, including a half marathon. While living in Florida, he had the privilege and took pride in volunteering for the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone who listened to him talk about it knew his work there had a great deal of meaning to him. He inspired those around him, illustrating with his own life, the ability to make changes – and make a difference – at any age.
Ken is survived by his children: Edward Hancock, Tionesta, and Angel (Adam) Holt, Oil City; three grandchildren: Haylee Hancock Hartzell, Amber and Preston Holt; Sandy Hancock to whom he was married; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Kenneth J. Hancock; his brother, Harry “Marty” Hancock; and sister-in-law, Gloria Hancock.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Clarion Forest VNA Hospice 271 Perkins Rd., Clarion, PA 16214 or online at www.cfvna.org.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to send online condolences may do so at www.wimer funeralhome.com.
