Alberta R. Larson
Alberta R. Larson, 92, of Jamestown, passed away on Dec. 11, 2021 at Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 10, 1929 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Bertha Sandquist Carlson.
She was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School and graduated from Jamestown Business College Suma Cum Lade. She went to the Salvation Army School for Officers Train-ing in the Bronx, graduating in 1953. She then served with the Salvation Army in NYC, Youngstown, Ohio, Brooklyn, NY, Erie, PA, and Brocton, Mass.
Before retiring in July of 1995, she was employed at WCA Hospital for 19 years as a payroll clerk. In earlier years she had worked at Dahlstrom Manufacturing, Proto Tool Company and Crescent Tool, and a house mother at the Gustavus Adolphus Children’s Home.
For many years she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and most recently Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Alberta is survived by her son Mark E. (Carrie) Larson of Elgin, SC, and her daughter Kerstin M. (Michael) Larson McClintick; six grandchildren: Tiffany N. Larson, Monica B. Larson, Josiah D. McClintick, Kylie McClintick, Brooke Bowles, Brandon Aull; and her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, De-bra Ann Larson in 1967; three brothers: Arthur Carl-son, Alvin Carlson, William Carlson; a sister Dorothy Carlson; and a niece Major Elsie Lants.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Rev. Daniel Soderberg will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received for a half hour prior to the service from 9:30-10 am in the church on Saturday.
