Martha L. Bailey
Martha L. Bailey, 75, of Derrick City, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on Oct. 11, 1946, in Bradford, a daughter of the late James Franklin and Lucinda (Kline) Weaver. She was a 1964 graduate of Bradford High School.
On Sept. 11, 1972, she married Thomas R. Bailey Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1998.
Martha worked as a nurses aid for over 15 years at Warren State Hospital. In her later years, she worked in Home Health Care for multiple area families. Martha was a very caring and compassionate person, treating those in her care like they were family.
Martha loved spending time with family, she enjoyed going to bingo with her sisters and relatives, In her later years she enjoyed trips to the casino with her son TJ, she also enjoyed spending time at Allegany St. Park camping with family, and the many family gatherings, most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren: especially Taylor and Brooke.
Surviving are three sons: Ron (Tracy) Bailey of Warren, Mark (Andrea) Bailey of Bradford, and Tom “TJ” Bailey of Derrick City; one daughter, Ann (Chad) McCalla of Bradford; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters: Norma Lee of Bradford, Shirley Confer of Bradford, Mary Jane Buchanan of Jacksonville, N.C., Delsie Wingard of Warren, Helen Miller of Lewis Run, and Linda (Jim) Barrett of Lewis Run; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Jacob and Jim Weaver, three sisters: Pearl Sloan, Ethel Gould and Atetta Buchanan.
Family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 372 E. Main St., from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held with The Rev. Robert Brest, retired pastor of the First Free United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contribution, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
