Michael D. “Mick” Johnson
Michael D. “Mick” Johnson, 79, of 3347 Anderson Rd., Busti, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at his home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 26, 1942 in Jamestown, the son of Durwood and Julia Crandall Johnson.
Mick was a heavy equipment operator for Local 17 in Buffalo.
He was a cofounder of the Busti Men’s Club.
Mick was an avid Bills fan. He enjoyed building race cars and liked dirt track racing.
He was an antique collector and had owned Busti Treasures.
Mick is survived by four children: Laurie (Steve) Decker of Lander, PA, Jeff (Dena) Morrison of Allen Texas, Steve (Karen) Johnson of Busti, and Greg (Michelle VanGuilder) Johnson of Busti; six grandchildren: Jason Decker, Shannon Decker, Wyatt Johnson, Zach Johnson, Cody VanGuilder, and Levi Morrison; four great-grandchildren: Brandon Decker, Vance Miller, Lexi and Nick Crossley, and a brother, Eugene (Linda) Johnson of Busti.
He was predeceased by his wife Nancy Johnson, a sister, Anne Johnson and a brother, Jim Johnson.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Busti Men’s Club.
No visitation will be observed.
The Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg is handling arrangements.
Burial will be in Busti Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, dona-tions may be given to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W. Fair-mount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
