Lloyd Franklin Gray

Lloyd Franklin Gray, 86, of Russell, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 7, 2022, at his residence.]

Lloyd was born on June 11, 1936, in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Weston L. Gray and Eleanor M. Chambers Gray.

He was a machine grinder at SKF (Marlin Rockwell), for 48 years from which he retired in 2003. Lloyd and his wife are members of the Cable Hollow Community Church in Russell. Lloyd was an avid golfer and was one of the oldest members of the Blueberry Hill Golf Club, having been a member for many years. He belonged to several regional golf clubs and was an accomplished club champion at many. He also loved traveling and spending time at the Plantation Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Lloyd was a coach for Little League baseball and a local umpire for many softball and baseball games. He enjoyed bowling and skating at the Russell Roller Rink and especially enjoyed spending quality time with his family and camping and boating at the Kinzua Reservoir. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Ruth VanCise Gray, whom he married on May 11, 1957; children: Lenny Gray of Russell, Pa., Jeffrey Gray and wife, Cynthia of Russell, Pa., and Terry Gray and wife, Shelly of Akeley, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Stephanie, Alex, Natalie Gray Hastings, and Alyssa Gray, Ben and Alicia Chase, and Teagan Gray; five great-grandchildren; his siblings: Joanne Seybert of Girard, Ohio, Carol Wilkins and husband, Harold of Russell, Pa., and Pat VanArsdale of Jamestown, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by brothers: Jim Gray, Kenneth Gray, David Gray, Michael Gray, and Gary Gray; and his sisters: Sandy Grayand Kathleen Michael.

Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna Ave. E. Warren, Pa., on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m., and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held at the Cable Hollow Community Church, 3157 Cable Hollow Road, Russell, Pa., on Tuesday, Oct 11, 2022, at 11:00 am, with the Rev. Allan Jones, pastor, officiating.
