Carrie J. Vance

Born on Aug. 4, 1984, in Corry, PA, she was the daughter of Philip Vance, DC., and the late Rhonda (Hurlbut) Thomson.

She is survived by her grandmother, Mabel Tustin, of Tucson, AZ; father, Philip (partner Karen Vaughan of Port Elgin, Ontario) Vance, of Tucson, AZ; her twin sister, Chrystal (Brian) Wheeler, of State College, PA, and her sister, Flowers (Mark) Lovern, of Raleigh, NC.

Carrie was a 2003 graduate of Eisenhower Middle High School in Russell, PA. She received a Legal Assistance Associate Degree from South Hills School of Business and Technology in 2011. She was employed since 2009 at The Pennsylvania State University Libraries at University Park, PA in Book Collections Maintenance.

She was a member of the Judy Bolton Society and attended the yearly meetings in Coudersport, PA for over 20 years. Her passions were reading and exploring Victorian homes throughout Pennsylvania. Her favorite country was Ireland, which she visited multiple times. She also cared deeply for all cats.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, PA.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at Koch Funeral Home officiated by Evelyn Wald, LPC.

Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Corry (Columbus), PA. Date to be announced.
