David Arthur Hummel
David Arthur Hummel, 72, of Warren, PA, went to be with his Lord on January 16, 2023, at his residence following a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Dave was born on June 20, 1950, in Erie, PA, the son of the late Reverend Arthur F. Hummel and Martha L. (Haines) Hummel. He was a 1969 graduate of Eisenhower High School.
Dave was self-employed after returning to Warren in 1973. He did remodeling, grounds keeping, and care-taking for several families in Warren. His passion was his photography which he turned into his business. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Cindi, and were able to travel to England, California, and other various cities in the U.S. when their daughter traveled with Disney on Ice. He had many opportunities to use his gift of photography to capture the places and people as they traveled. He also loved photographing Presque Isle, and the Kinzua Dam area. From 1997 through 2010, he was active, along with the rest of his family, in the Jamestown Skating Club where he held many roles with the club and for the coaches.
He was an active member and taught Sunday School at the First Church of God. He belonged to the Warren Kiwanis, and always enjoyed working at the annual election day dinner, bell ringing at Christmas, and other fundraising endeavors.
Dave is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cynthia “Cindi” Hummel, whom he married on May 29, 1980; daughter, Rebecca Bevevino and husband Daniel of Russell, PA; two very special “Papa’s girls,” Rylee, and Baylee; sister, Dorothy “Dee” Chase and husband David; brother, William Hummel and wife Pamela; several nieces and nephews, Nikki, Brycelyn, Chelsey, and Tavin.
Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna Ave. E., Warren, PA, on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and one hour prior to a funeral service which will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the First Church of God, 1111 Madison Ave., Warren, PA, at 11:00am, with pastor Bill Hargenrader, officiating.
