Joyce Dalrymple Nelson
Joyce Dalrymple Nelson of Phoenix, AZ passed away on April 19, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born on Nov. 21, 1930, in Warren, PA to Ralph H. and Hazel Holt Dalrymple. She is survived by her son Timothy G Nelson (Mary), Granddaughter Cheryl Nelson Newman, grandson Brian T Nelson of Highlands Ranch, CO, and twin Great Grandsons Cooper and Wilder Newman.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Gail T Nelson, daughter Cheryl Nelson Fitzgerald, and brothers Louis and Delbert Dalrymple.
Upon graduation from high school in 1948 she worked at Pennsylvania Gas Co for five years and after raising her family worked at PennBank for 22 years. After retiring in 1992 she and Gail spent the first several years between Warren and Phoenix, AZ to be close to her family but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. In 1995 they moved full time to Phoenix and volunteered at the Boswell Hospital in Sun City, AZ for over 20 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Warren for many years and Spirit of Hope Methodist Church after moving to Arizona.
She was very fortunate to have spent quality time with many of her “favorite” nieces and other longtime friends prior to her passing. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making donations to the Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ. The interment will be at the Warren County Memorial Park.
