Julie Ann Ransom
Julie Ann Ransom (age: 61) of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on October 23rd, 2023 at her home in Lawrenceville, due to natural causes.
Julie graduated from Warren Area High School in 1980, graduated in 1982 from Geneva College with an Associates Degree in Business, and in 1991 from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Professional Writing.
She worked in the public and non-profit sectors as a writer, Marketing Director, and humanitarian advocate. She was a Superhost for Airbnb and the Moderator for the Pittsburgh Airbnb Association. A supporter of the Fine Arts in Pittsburgh through hours of Volunteering and financial contributions. She created the non-profit Pittsburgh Singles Volunteer Network (PSVN) that allowed community organizations to have volunteers from all over her beloved city to come together for the greater good. She will be remembered for her wit, sarcasm, generous spirit, and creating opportunities for people to succeed.
Julie is survived by her father, William Ransom, and sister, Amy K. Ransom both of Warren, PA, and Nephews Parker and Braden Lutz of Fredericksburg, VA. In addition, Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra A. Ransom.
Many friends and family were received on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Walter Zalewski Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh, PA with a memorial service led by her sister, Amy K. Ransom, who shared the eulogy.
