Sandra L. “Sandy” Pearson

Sandra graduated from Warren Area High School in 1961 and Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA in 1965 with a degree in Fine Arts.

Sandra was predeceased by her former husband, Clarence I. Pearson, with whom she had one son, John F. Pearson of Warren. Together they operated his business, Karnak Tree and Shrub (later Karnak, Inc.), where she was an officer until his retirement in 1984.

A dutiful daughter, devoted wife, caretaker, loyal friend, she found time to be an active member in many of this community’s social clubs, pursued a variety of educational and art opportunities and served on several Boards engaged with improving the lives of those with disabilities.

Her pioneering path most recently led her to implementing AI technology into her son’s life while presenting their work in national virtual conferences. The unwavering commitment to mastering the breadth and depth of opportunities each decade brought for those with intellectual disabilities, and in turn, inspiring that community, is her lasting legacy.

If anyone should wish to send a memorial in her name, please do so to the Barber National Institute, Warren Campus, 44 N. State Street, Warren where she served on the BEI board for a number of years or to the Crary Art Gallery, 511 Market Street, where she enjoyed volunteering with her son, John.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 17th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the parlors of the Warren Woman’s Club, 310 Market St, Warren, PA 16365.
