Dorothy L. “Dot” Fleming

Dorothy L. “Dot” Fleming, 92, of Warren, PA, passed away on Friday July 12, 2024, after a brief stay at the Warren Manor.

Dot was born September 13, 1931, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Calvin and Ethel Chamberlain Slagle. Dot was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School. When she married and started her family, she volunteered as a “Gray Ladies” at the Warren General Hospital 54 years, delivering mail, flowers and gifts throughout the hospital. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross, working many blood drives throughout the years. She also worked alongside her husband at the National Forge Credit Union for 12 years.

She and her late husband enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome and had made 44 trips to Colorado to visit their son. Dot will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Seder and husband Jim, of Russell, PA; a son, Gary Fleming of Boulder CO; two grandsons, Scott Wood and wife Rhonda of Dubois, and David Wood and wife Jaclyn of Warren; three step-grandsons, Mike, Tim, and David Seder; three great-grandchildren, Philip Wood, Cody Wood, and Marlee Wood; many nieces and nephews, and several step grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death on November 3, 2014, by her husband, Sherwood W. “Sherry” Fleming, whom she married on March 25, 1950; an infant daughter Patricia Sue in 1963; two sisters, Marylou McKoon, and infant sister Vivian Slagle; and four brothers, Paul Slagle, John Slagle, Harold Slagle, and Ralph Slagle.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 11 am until noon, at which time a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Todd Venmon, pastor, Wiltsie Community Church, officiating.

The family suggests memorial donation in memory of Dot be made to Paws Along the River.
