James E. Sanden

James E. Sanden, 73, of Pittsfield, PA, passed away on July 2, 2024.

Jake, as he was better known, was born to Emil and Thelma Sanden on July 25, 1950, in Warren, PA. He graduated from Warren High School in 1969 and went on to earn a degree in computer programming from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

In returning home, he became the proud owner of his own flooring company, Sanden Flooring, which he started with his father, and worked along side with him for years. Jake was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. You can see him on the front of Pennsylvania Outdoor Journal holding a record breaking lake trout. If you didn’t find him in the woods or on Lake Erie with his dear friends, you would find him playing with his grandchildren or spending time with his son in Florida.

He roller skated with is granddaughter and taught his grandson how to shoot a BB gun. He helped his son, daughter, and son-in-law with their many home and boat projects. He was always there to offer guidance and advice. He had many talents, a great sense of humor and love for life. Jake cherished his family, and friends who were close to him. He is survived by Sonna Sanden and their children Jim/Jimmy Sanden and Shelley Ward; his son-in-law Patrick Ward and grandchildren, Brennah and Keller Ward. In addition to his parents, Jake is preceded in death by his sister Carol Tudor.
