V. Jean Nelson

She was born on August 27, 1932 in Kittanning, PA, a daughter to the late Lee and Nora (Mauthe) Bowser. Jean enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Lanora (Larry) Sondericker of Warren and Lanae Shubert of Tiona; two grandsons, Roger (Julia) Young of Youngsville ad Seth Wiedmaier of Warren; 3 granddaughters, Dawn (Tom) Merlette of Buffalo, Ronda (Brian) Retterer of Warren and Molly (Andrew) Ackley of Warren; her sister-in-law, Virginia Nelson of Tidioute; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Nelson on November 13, 2002; her daughter, Latrell Young Kranak; her sisters, Elizabeth McMillen and Sara Sustrich; her brother, Norman Bowser and her son-in-laws, Roger Young and Kevin Shubert.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main Street, Youngsville, PA 16371, from 11:00am-1:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Nancy Schwanke, pastor of the InterFaith Chapel in Warren, officiating. A private burial will take place at Westview cemetery in Starbrick.
