Victoria “Vicky” L. Zarnick

Vicky was born January 16, 1951, in Kane, PA, the daughter of the late Sylvia (Spetic) and Ernest Zarnick. She grew up in James City and was a 1968 graduate of Kane High School. She attended the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford where she earned a degree in Human Relations. She worked for 20 years as a casework supervisor with the Department of Human Services in Warren County and as a 302 mental health delegate, before returning to Pitt Bradford to obtain her nursing degree. She had a second career as a registered nurse, at nursing homes in Warren County, including the Rouse Home and the Warren Manor, and as a hospice nurse with AthoraCare. As a dedicated social worker and nurse, Vicky treated her clients and patients with the highest level of care and respect.

Vicky spent her free time creating intricate cross-stitch pieces, knitting, and gardening. She was a Master Gardener and loved to share her produce and gardening knowledge with neighbors, friends, family, and strangers who passed by. Vicky had a dry wit and true appreciation for the quirkiness of others. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a sister, Kathy Ahlberg and husband Jim of Wilcox, PA; three nieces, Dana Ahlberg and husband Jonathan Johnson, Kara Parrish and husband Kris, and Kristin Dunmire and husband Matt; and a nephew, Lee Zarnick. She is also survived by four great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Zarnick in 2023, and a sister, Germaine Zarnick in 1984.

At her request, there will be no public visitation or services. The family suggests memorial donations be sent to Paws Along the River Humane Society, 212 Elm St., Warren, PA; the Salvation Army, 311 Beech St., Warren, PA; or the Cancer Care Center at Warren General, 105 Lee St., Warren, PA.
