Michael Crocker

In Loving Memory of Michael Crocker, of Waterford, born on March 23, 1941 and lived 83 years full of adventure. Mike passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at home with his loving family at his side.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret Ann Wick Crocker, his devoted wife of 59 years since their marriage on August 21, 1965.

Mike was the son of the late James and Mary Reed Crocker, growing up in Michigan and Ohio alongside his siblings: Bud Crocker, LaQuita McCarthy, and Gaynol Wapotich. Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Throughout his life, Mike displayed many talents, both in his career and personal pursuits. His work journey included roles as a Manager and Chef in the food industry, a car salesman, the last police officer in Waterford Borough, and positions at Perry Ship Repair, Riley Stocker, Bucyrus Erie, and AMSCO/Steris, where he held an impressive 43 different positions. He retired from Steris in 2003.

In his spare time, Mike was a man of varied interests and passions. His lifelong love for hunting took him across the United States and Canada. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, gardening, and was an avid snowmobiler for over 50 years. A Master Scuba Diver, he completed over 900 dives. Mike also loved playing cards, horseshoes, and dancing with his favorite partner, Margaret. Above all, he treasured the memories, laughter, and friendships that came with his hobbies.

Mike was equally committed to giving back to his community. He volunteered his time doing income taxes for 15 years, cooking for St. Cyprian’s and All Saints Churches for 30 years, teaching Driver Safety classes, and serving as President of the 832 Retirees and the UAW International Retirees. He was also the family favorite “Uber” driver.

Big or small, short or tall, he loved them all.

The Crocker family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to family members, friends, and Hospice whose love and care allowed Mike to spend his final days at home, surrounded by those he cherished most.
