Derek Richard Smock

Derek was born May 28, 1983, in Warren, PA, the son of Rodger Smock and Janet D. Utegg Bevevino, and step-father, Paul Bevevino, who survives. Derek was also the grandson of Carl and Coralee Utegg and Janice Redick. He was employed at a consulting firm as a political operative.

Derek enjoyed sports, especially the Philadelphia Phillies, cooking, grilling, mentoring others, was a very avid electric guitar player of the Blues and was always giving to others. Derek had been sober for 17 years, and his mother was very happy.

In addition to his parents, Derek is survived by his fiance, Jackie Morris of Ardmore, PA; step- brother, David Bevevino and wife Mary Jo of Erie, PA; and stepsister, Andrea Faulkner and husband Frank of South Carolina; and childhood best friend, Eric Stevenson of Erie, PA.

There will be no services for Derek held at this time.
