Joyce E. Watson

Joyce was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Warren, the daughter of the late Walter and Freda (Yagge) Rhoades. She resided in Warren for many years. She also lived in Avon Park and Lake Placid, FL.

Joyce was of Protestant faith. She spent her time as a volunteer at Warren General Hospital. Her boundless interests were watching her grandson’s race motorcross. Her life was full; she accepted friends with open arms. Joyce dealt with whatever presented itself, good or bad, with a “can-do” spirit.

Joyce is survived by her son, Jon Watson and wife Kelly of Russell; two grandsons whom she adored, Spencer (Morgan Olsen Watson) and Parker (Mallory Sherrard); one niece; and three nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Niles Sparky Watson; a son, William “Whipper” Watson; a daughter, Kathy Watson Carter; and two brothers, William and Clayton Rhoades.

Friends may call at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm, at which time a memorial service will be held with the Reverend Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, First Lutheran Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warren General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA.
