Patricia Ann (Patti) Blum

Patricia Ann (Patti) Blum, 67, a lifelong resident of Sheffield, PA passed away peacefully on Friday evening, October 18, 2024, at her son and daughter-in-law’s home in Sheffield.

Patti was born on December 29, 1956, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Kenneth W. Schrader and Maxine (Littlefield) Schrader. Patti was a 1974 graduate of Sheffield High School. She was selected as Valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at Clarion State University with degrees in English, Child Development, Accounting and Business Administration. For over 30 years, Patti served as a Certified Public Accountant, running Pattie’s Tax Service for countless people and businesses. Should you stop by her office, one would see her avid collection of the Wizard of Oz memorabilia and her countless angel collection. She was an avid reader, and she might often be found browsing for reading material at the Sheffield Library. She was instrumental, along with her late husband and her son and daughter-in-law in starting the Sheffield Area Community Thanksgiving dinners which provided meals on Thanksgiving Day for people who otherwise wouldn’t have a hot meal.

Patti was a lifelong member of the Sheffield United Methodist church and held many offices in the church. She served on the Civic Association for many years and was one the Board of Directors for the Sheffield Medical Center. Patti will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her, especially her loving family and the Sheffield Community.

Left behind to cherish Patti’s memory are her son, Frank, and his wife Sandra Blum of Sheffield; her adopted daughters: Crystal Van Hart of Warren, and Amanda Mooney of Georgia; her sister Cindy A. Striegel of Sheffield; her brothers, James (Butch) Miller, Jr. (Jeanie Smead) of Sheffield, Terry L. Schrader(Judy) of Cherry Grove and Kenneth (Toot) W. Schrader (Laurie) of Barnes as well as her grandchildren: Bethany Miller, Kimberly Frantz, Stuart Frantz, Jr., and Kathryn (Bug) Nelson; and her greatgrandchildren: Troy, Connor, McKenna, Jimmy, Serenity, Andrew, Levi, Kamaria. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and her special fur babies, Herbie and Missy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ronald Lee Blum who passed away on March 29, 2021.

Patti’s family will welcome family and friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home, 203 W. Main St. in Sheffield, PA. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday,October 23, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sheffield United Methodist Church, 11 W. Main St., Sheffield, PA. Funeral Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Ruth Ann Varrato presiding. Burial will take place at the Sheffield Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the church.
