Ralph L. Caldin

Ralph L. Caldin, 81, long-time resident of Huntington Beach, California, passed away June 2, 2024, at the Santa Ana Health Care Center from two years of declining health. He passed away peacefully at 4:00 AM surrounded by his family.

Ralph was born in Washington, D.C. on September 2, 1942, the son of the late John W. Caldin, Jr. and Lucile Daelhousen Caldin.

He was a 1960 graduate of Warren High School. A member of the football team and the WAHS band playing his beloved trombone. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warren he sang in the church choir.

He studied CAD drafting for architectural design at Williamsport, PA. He enjoyed a long career as an architectural draftsman at Boeing Aerospace Manufacturing and Kerr Glass Mfg Co. in Southern California.

Retirement soon opened a second career as an adjunct teacher for drafting computer design at Westminster High School and Santa Ana College.

Ralph was interested in social-cultural anthropology and took pleasure in having traveled to all seven continents.

Ralph married Sandra Mackey in 1965 in Jeanette, Pa. A later second marriage to Peggy Plugh in Pittsburgh.

He is survived by his three children. Two sons: RLC, Jr., Michael Sean; and a daughter, Audra Michelle Palmero. He is survived by 4 grandchildren: Sterling, Storme, Ryan and Aubrey. 2 great-grandchildren, Milana and Calvin; and a sister, Cheryl Anforth. Family spread out residing in Virginia, Wyoming and Huntington Beach.
