Fred E. Jensen
Fred E. Jensen, 88, of Columbus, PA passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA.
He was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Lottsville, PA, a son of the late Fred Jensen Sr and Bertha (Beckwith) Jensen.
Fred was raised and educated in the Corry area and graduated from Corry Area High School in 1956. After high school, he attended Reppert Auction School. Once he graduated, he began his auctioneering career in estate and livestock sales. He spent most of his career auctioneering for the largest, state-of-the-art, dealer automobile auctions in Detroit, Columbus, Ohio, and others across the country. Fred was repeatedly recognized as a distinguished auctioneer within the automotive industry. He grew up on a family dairy farm and continued farming throughout his life. He was active with local 4-H and auctioneered many of the livestock auctions at the Warren County Fair.
He was a lifelong equestrian enthusiast and enjoyed holding horse related events at his farm, Jensen Farms as well as helping others with their horses. He was an avid hunter and made a regular trek to Colorado to elk hunt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly (Hicks) Jensen.
Fred is survived by his wife, Katherine Kemp Jensen, whom he married March 7, 1987; three children, Brett (Becky) Jensen of Kane, PA; Stacey (John II) Grabski of Branchport, NY and Marceil (Robert) Handkammer of Charlotte, NC and brother, John Jensen of Columbus, PA.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, Ellie (Sean) Burke of Branchport, NY, Ben Grabski of Branchport, NY, Jacob Jensen of Kane, PA, Wyatt Jensen of Kane, PA, Lance Handkammer of Charlotte, NC and Madilynn Handkammer of Charlotte, NC; three great-grandsons, Finnegan, Jameson, and Sullivan Burke and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA, 16407 on Friday, Nov. 22 from 6 pm to 8pm and on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service there at 11 am. Pastor Les Utegg will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Corry, PA.
