Sally M. DiMino
Early Sunday morning, October 27, 2024, Sally M. DiMino, age 89, passed away quietly at Hoag Hospital Newport Beach after a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her death.
She was born, Sally May Osten, on Nov 28, 1934 in Tionesta, PA to James K. and Gertrude L. (Johnston) Osten. She was the oldest of 6 children in the family.
Sally graduated from Tionesta High School and went on to study nursing at The Oil City School of Nursing, in Oil City, PA. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1955. She worked at Oil City Hospital until her marriage to Angelo V DiMino, of Rocky Grove, PA in 1957. They moved to Warren, PA for Angelo’s job with the school district and she continued her career as a nurse working at Warren General Hospital and became the Emergency Room Supervisor.
The family moved to California in 1972 where she worked at a few different hospitals as an RN and eventually transitioned to Administration and Utilization Review until her retirement in 2001.
Sally was an avid reader of romance novels. She was a volunteer for the Boys Republic and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors for many years. Sally and Angelo enjoyed trips to Italy, Austria, Canada and travels within the US states.
Sally is survived by her daughters, Angela Parker and her husband Todd of Oil City, PA, Annette DiMino of Oil City, PA, Julia A Morton of Costa Mesa, CA, and Mary G Boyd and her husband Michael of Canyon, TX. Sally is also survived by her granddaughter, Amy L Worthington and her husband Josh and her great grandchildren Vincent B, Aryalynn L and, Saria Jane and her great grandchildren of the heart, Cassandra, Luis and Sebastian. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Ellen Anderson of Meadville, PA, Margaret (Peggy) Kidd of Tionesta, PA, her brothers, Dean Osten, of Houston, MO and Allan Osten of Erie, PA
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo V. DiMino, her parents, and one brother Dale Osten. Sally was laid to rest with Angelo at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside CA.
