Ronald G. “Ron” Hunter
Ronald G. “Ron” Hunter, 78, of Lander, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 27, 2024, at Warren General Hospital.
Ron was born on September 1, 1946, in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Gail and Janet Howe Hunter. He was a graduate of Warren Area High School. In 1966 he was drafted into the Army and went to Vietnam. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman, and an accomplished hound’s man. He enjoyed his hunting dogs and still owned two beagles and a foxhound. He regularly hunted with a group of great friends and always enjoyed seeing kids succeed in the hunt. Ron was always willing to help his neighbors, friends and strangers. He will be long remembered for his kindness and friendship to many people.
Ron is survived by his children; Marcy Stanton and husband Jeff of Lander, and a son, Scott Hunter of Tennessee; his good friend and companion Joyce Lindell Brown of Lander; a brother, Robert Hunter and wife Debbie of Scandia; granddaughter, Kayla Luther and husband Brandon of Winterville, N.C.; three great grandsons, Gates, Crew and Briggs Luther; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife Joan Anderson Hunter, whom he married on June 7, 1968, and his brother Archie Hunter.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation, P.O. Box 241, Harborcreek, Pa. 16421.
