Catherine (Kay) Rhodes

Catherine (Kay) Rhodes passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2025 after very brief illness.. Catherine was born October 25, 1931 in Snowden, Pa, to John and Anne (Swenson) Brown, whom preceded her in death. Catherine married Daniel Rhodes in 1949 in Meadville Pa, he preceded her in death in 1997. She resided with her son Gary and Daughter in Law Joyce in Wilcox, Pa.

She is survived by her two sons and their families, John Gary (Joyce) Rhodes of Wilcox, granddaughter Stephannie (Ted) Hulings, great-granddaughter Samantha Hulings and great-grandson Jon Hulings; her son Timothy J. (Merrilee) Rhodes of Cape Coral Florida and grandson Steven ( Jamie) Rhodes, great-granddaughter Sydnee Rhodes and great-grandson Keaton Daniel Rhodes of Hydetown, PA, Josh (Anne) Rhodes and great-grandsons Daniel Rhodes and Edison Rhodes of Royal Palm Beach Florida. Step granddaughter Jamie Gibbons and her daughter Giselle and many nieces and nephews

Catherine was the last surviving member of her immediate family; preceded death by brothers and sisters, John, Thelma, David, Betty, Marjorie, Nancy, and Margaret in addition to an infant sister.

Catherine was a homemaker and in later years worked at the Franklin Hardware. While in Frankin she resided on Pone Lane for many years and was longtime member of the Franklin Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and after moving from the area, attended the Alliance Church in Warren and later the Kane Presbyterian Church. She was a Sunday school and bible schoolteacher and volunteered for many years at Sugarcreek Station. Her family, and her favorite dachshund Puddles, were the loves of her life. She was an outstanding cook, baker, avid reader, and outstanding quilter, having made quilts for all her immediate family. Her quilts won awards at the local fair in Franklin, Pa. She was always busy and enjoyed family, friends, and good conversation. She was a regular at the Wilcox Senior Center enjoying her friends there and playing bingo as recently as a week ago.

A celebration of life for Catherine will be held at the Kane Presbyterian Church at a later date and internment will be in Graham Cemetery, Franklin, Pa.
