Richard “Dick” Olson

Born on August 6, 1946 in Summerville, he was the youngest son of the late Warren “Rusty” and Sara Smith Olson.

He was a 1965 graduate of Brookville High School and retired from Rexnord after 35years as a machinist.c

On November 4, 1967 he married the former Peg Moore. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage. She survives.

Dick was a proud member of Sugar Grove Am Vets Post 50 and the Busti Men’s Club.

His pastimes included hunting, spending time with his family and hanging out with his friends.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed and forever LOVED.

In addition to his wife, Peg, he is survived by his son, Chad (Michele) Olson; his daughter, Nicole ( Jim) Thompson; his grandchildren, Colt (Jordan) Olson, Dalton (Alyssa) Olson, Anthony ( Kaitlin) Gedz, Brooke Olson, Kyra Thompson, Luke Saar and Ryane Saar; his great grandson, Nash Olson; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his 4 brothers, Lorain, Don, William and Joe Olson; and his 5 sisters, Phyllis Harrison, Sally Olson, Kathryn McBride, Darla Fyock and Gloria Taylor-Lichte.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Olson.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held on a later date.
