Darla Ann Peterson
KANE — Darla Ann Peterson, 85, of the Rouse Estate, Warren, PA, formerly of Kane, PA, passed away on February 4, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on June 19, 1939, in Kane, PA, Darla was the daughter of the late Arlene (Oberg) and Samuel Ingersoll. She married Bernard “Pete” Peterson in 1963, who preceded her in death, along with her sister Lauralee “Lolly” Peterson, and brothers Tim and Jim Ingersoll.
Darla is survived by her son, Gary (Lori) Peterson; daughter, Sherri Peterson; granddaughters, Meghan Peterson and Brooke Peterson; and her niece, Samantha (Jason) Rafalski, along with many other cherished relatives.
Family was at the center of her life, and she found immense joy in her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her children, Gary and Sherri, were her greatest source of happiness, and she devoted herself to raising them. The bond she shared with her granddaughters, Meghan and Brooke, was especially precious. She took great pride in watching them grow into strong, accomplished young adults. Darla also held her niece, Samantha, close to her heart.
Known for her nurturing spirit, Darla spent many years as a daycare provider, offering love and care to every child she cared for. She welcomed others into her home, creating a warm and safe space for all who entered. Her kindness was felt by everyone she met, and her genuine love for others shone through in everything she did.
A member of the Kane Community Methodist Church, Darla enjoyed attending services and participating in fellowship. Outside the church, she lived a Christ-centered life, always showing kindness and sharing her warm smile with those around her. Her beloved husband affectionately called her “Smiley,” a name she truly earned with her constant, genuine smile that brightened the lives of all who crossed her path.
Visitation for Darla will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a service at 12:00 PM. A luncheon will be held afterward from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. All events will take place at the Kane Community Methodist Church, 112 Greeves Street, Kane, PA.
