Karen L. Yourchisi
Karen L. Yourchisin, 77, of Youngsville, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Rouse Home.
Karen was born February 8, 1947, in Lewistown, PA, the daughter of the late Robert N. and Eileen (Carr) Jewell. She was a 1965 graduate of Youngsville High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Slippery Rock University, and earned a Master of Education at Penn State University. She was employed as a teacher for Warren County School District for 35 years, retiring in 2004.
Karen was a member of First Methodist Church, sang in the church choir, played in the bell choir, and taught adult and children’s Sunday School. She was involved in the Youngsville chapter #478 Order of the Eastern Star, the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary. Karen was an intrepid traveler, visiting all 50 states and 16 foreign countries.
Karen is survived by her husband, Paul M. Yourchisin, whom she married on June 14, 1969; two children, Damon M. Yourchisin and wife Kimberly of Plato, MO, and Kimberly M. Yourchisin of Warren; grandchildren, Autumn, Delaney, and Bella Yourchisin; sister, Bonita Jewell of Sheffield; special friends, Dori and Michael Dunst and their children, Matt and Braeden of Cleveland, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Park.
A Memorial service for Karen will be held at First Methodist Church, 200 Market St., Warren, PA, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00am with Reverend Mark Hecht, pastor, officiating.
