Kathy Vash Ishman, 62, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025 at UPMC Hamot with her husband by her side. She was born on April 30, 1962, a daughter of Dorothy Mikolajczak and the late Maurice Vash. She married Quinton Ishman on July 7, 2001.
Kathy was employed in 1998 as a Fleet Program Manager with General Electric for many years. She also held positions at the Diocese of Erie and Marine Bank.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Kathy enjoyed camping, photography, needlepoint, and shooting.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Robert Ishman; her brother-in-law, Rod Ishman; and her sister-in-law, Cathy Ishman.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her children, Dan Ishman (Amanda) of Corry, and Paul Ploss of Girard; her grandchildren, Jerome, Chandler, and Danika Ishman, and Tristen Ploss; her brother, Ronald Vash of Erie; her mother-in-law, Saundra Sharp of Youngsville; her brother-in-law, Scott Ishman (Jolean) of Pittsfield; and her sister-in-law, Tawyna Metcalf (Gene) of Sheffield; and very close friends and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, Pa 16504 on Friday from 2 pm until the time of funeral service there at 4 pm. Burial will be private in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
