Barbara P. Jewell
Barbara Jane (Peterson) Jewell, 90, formerly of Edinboro, died March 8, 2025, at Wesbury Retirement Community in Meadville. Barbara was born on Oct. 16, 1934, in Olean, NY. She was the daughter of the late John R. and Margaret A. Peterson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace F. Jewell and her brother, Charles R. Peterson.
Barbara worked in the office of Penn-Union for many years before retiring in 1996. Barbara was a member of the Edinboro United Methodist Church, their quilting group and Methodist Women; the Northcoast Sewing Guild, and the Shadbush Club of Edinboro.
Survivors include two sons, Scott (Sandee) Jewell, of Frederick, MD, and Michael (Kimberly) Jewell, of Meadville; three grandchildren, Emilee (Claude) Richardson of Olympia, WA, Bridgette (Dustin Deitman) Jewell, and son, Ryan (Leah) Jewell, all of Pittsburgh; also, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy (William) Schall, of Long Island, NY; a sister-in-law, Patricia Peterson of Derrick City, PA and many nieces and nephews.
The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements. Friends may call at the Edinboro United Methodist Church, 113 High St., Edinboro, on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 11 am to 12 p.m. A service will follow at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, Edinboro United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club of Edinboro, or a charity of choice.
