Dorothy “Dot” Reed Hannold
Dorothy “Dot” Reed Hannold, 99, of Youngsville, PA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
She was born in Sugar Grove, PA, on September 9, 1925, a daughter to the late Lewis and Bella (Nelson) Reed.
She graduated from Youngsville High School in 1944, and then went to work for War Department in the brand new Pentagon, until the end of WWII. She came home and worked at East End Stores, Youngsville National Bank and the Warren County School District, where she retired as the Cafeteria Manager in 1983.
Dot was a member of the New Life Church, in Youngsville, where she was on many committees; She was also a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She married her husband, Paul Hannold on June 8, 1946, they were married for 76 years until his death on June 6, 2022 at the age of 97. After the loss of her husband, she moved into the Watson Memorial Home in Warren.
Dot is survived by her two sons, Gary (Susan) Hannold and Mark (Roberta) Hannold; her grandchildren, Kristen, Heather, Matthew, Bonnie, Jonathen, Jacklyn, Nes and Terry; her great-grandchildren, Austin, Addison, Constance, Katlyn and Dominic.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father, McKinley Nelson; her sister, Evelyn; her brother, Donald and her step-sister, Doris.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the New Life Church, 18 Second St, Youngsville, PA 16371 from 10-11am at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor, officiating. A private burial will take place in Warren County Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the New Life Church or to the Watson Memorial Home, 1200 Conewango Ave, Warren, PA 16365.
The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Youngsville, have been entrusted with all arrangements.
