Earl F. Arnold Jr.

Earl F. Arnold Jr., age 96, of Richmond, KY, formerly of Pittsfield, PA, transitioned to his eternal home on February 14, 2025 after a short illness. He was born September 26, 1928, to the late Earl F. Arnold, Sr. and Helen (Luther) Arnold in Revloc, PA, and passed peacefully in the presence of his family in Richmond, KY.

After graduating from Youngsville High School in 1947, Earl was employed by Morgan Lumber (Pittsfield, PA), General Electric (Erie), and he worked on building the PA Turnpike. In 1957, he joined the US Navy serving 2 years in the Naval Reserves then 2 years active duty as a radar operator aboard the USS Heyliger. Earl then began his career as a machinist and supervisor at MRC, in Jamestown, NY. where he was a member and president of the MRC Credit Union. After 30 years at MRC, Earl continued his career at Cummins Engine, Jamestown, NY. He retired in 1998 and began driving elementary students to and from school in a school van.

A long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Youngsville, PA, Earl served on several committees and helped with several church projects before transferring to Red House Global Methodist Church, Richmond, KY. Over the years, he served the Pittsfield Township as auditor, caretaker of Riverside Cemetery, and committee member of the Pittsfield Community Center.

Earl was a Past Master of the Mason’s Stillwater Lodge 547 in Youngsville, Pa. He was a member of the ZemZem Shrine Club of Erie where he served as a driver transporting children to and from the Children’s Hospital and was the bass drummer the Oriental Band. (Yes, he wore those funny pointed shoes his grandchildren remember!!) He was President of the Warren County Shrine Club and also served in the Honor Guard for the Youngsville American Legion.

Throughout his life Earl focused on his family. “A-Mae-zing” Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and snowmobiling with his wife of 74 years, Mae Danielson, and his three children, Kathy Finn, LouAnn Shaffer and Douglas Arnold, all residing in Richmond, KY. He left us with many precious memories and words of wisdom such as “Don’t worry until there is something to worry about.”

Earl is survived by his wife and 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl and Keith Arnold, his sisters, Luella (Dale) Grady and Wanda (Donald) McNitt, nephews Timothy Arnold, Donald and Ronald McNitt and Boyd Grady.
