Frederick Henry Maier, 93, of Warren, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the John & Orpha Blair Hospice House.
Fred was born December 22, 1931, in Warren, the son of the late Christopher and Mildred (Pierce) Maier. He was a 1951 graduate of Warren High School. He served in the Navy Reserves for six years. Fred was employed at the National Forge as a Brick Mason from which he retired in 1994.
Fred was a longtime member until it’s closure of the First Baptist Church of Warren and then moved to Pleasant Community Church where he became a member and served as an usher. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and a member of the Kinzua Aeromodeler’s. Many of his airplane models are on display at the Wilder Museum in Irvine, PA. Fred was a local aviation Historian. Fred was also an avid camper and traveled all over the United States with his family.
Fred is survived by his five children, Mindy (Larry) Rodgers of Saegertown, Rod (Betsy) Maier of White Hall, PA, Cherlyn (Steve) Faulkner of Warren, Jeff (Brenda) Maier of Warren, and Trish (Brian) Devore of Warren; nine grandchildren, Adam (Diane) Rodgers of Meadville, Darlene (Eric) Snyder of Lutz, FL, Melissa (Brian) Blood of Warren, Scott (Kim) Means of Warren, Elizabeth Seice of Falconer, NY, Chris (Kayla) Maier of Farmville, VA, Kamie (Tony) Mazza of Harborcreek, Sam Laih of Bradford, and Ian Laih of Syracuse, NY; fifteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death on December 13, 2021, by his wife, Charlotte “Jeanne” Lemmon Maier, whom he married on August 23, 1952; sister, Virginia Petersen; and brother, William “Bud” Maier.
Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, PA, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at which time a funeral service will be held there with Reverend James Swanson, pastor, Pleasant Community Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
