Kathleen “Kathy” A. Whittemore

She was born in Warren on January 13, 1951, a daughter to the late Francis Joseph Dufresne and Elizabeth Mercy Quinn.

She worked for many years at GG Greens and then for the Hampton in Warren for 12 years as the desk clerk and bookkeeper. She enjoyed cake decorating, playing cards, helping others in need and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her cats.

Kathy was a member of the NW Presbyterian Church. She was the Treasurer and Active Ruling Elder on Session and Co Chair of Social and Missional Outreach Committee. Kathy was also a member of the Warren Moose Lodge 109 and helped coordinate the March of Dimes Program “Walk America”.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Dave) Taydus of Pittsfield; her grandchildren, John Wolfe, Sherrie Ried, Natalie Lucks, Matthew Taydus, Jennifer Sponaugle, Robert Beane; 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Fran (Duane) Barbano of AZ, James Dufresne of NY, Tony Dufresne of Warren and Richard Dufresne as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Whittemore, who she married on May 4, 1972; her daughters, Floris O’Steen and Andrea Beane and her siblings, Johnny and Laura Dufresne.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at NW Presbyterian Church, 200 S State St, North Warren, PA 16365, at 11am with the Rev. Burfoot S. “Buddy” Ward III.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the Warren General Cancer Care Center, 105 Lee St, Warren, PA 16365.
