Dannie C. Thorpe

He was born November 10, 1948, in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Joseph and Luella (Spencer) Thorpe.

Dan worked for several companies over the years. He owned and operated HillBilly Gun Barn and also processed deer. He retired from Watson Township.

He was a member of the SNPJ in Greensburg, PA. Dan enjoyed trapping, hunting and buying fur. He was a collector and picker of many things. Dan was The Man, The Myth, The Legend. He was alway the life of the party and loved by all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Meredith Pizer and Helen Miller.

Dan is survived by his loving, faithful wife of 57 years, Diane (Grimme) Thorpe; son, Troy Beecher Thorpe of Tidioute, PA; daughter, Danette Thorpe and partner Tom McCabe of Greensburg, PA and brother, Joseph “Butch” Thorpe of Tidioute, PA.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Wyatt Waszo, Hailey Thorpe, Leah Waszo, and Tory Thorpe, several nieces and nephews and his beloved and faithful dog, Buddy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
