John D. Conklin
John Dexter Conklin of Cherry Creek, NY passed Tuesday April 8, 2025, at Warren General Hospital with his close friends and caregivers, Terry and Penny Howe, by his side. He was born in Gowanda, NY on July 22, 1953 to Richard and Helen Conklin. He graduated from Pine Valley Central School in 1973 and was involved in instrumental music at Jamestown Community College. John worked at WCA hospital (UPMC Chautauqua) for almost 50 years. One of his favorite things in life was playing the drums, he enjoyed many years playing with Hickory Wind and Touch of Gold. He was of the Baptist faith and attended the Cherry Creek Baptist church for many years.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Jones and niece Heather Albritton and her children Isaiah and Dylan Santilli; nephew Justin Albritton (Kelly) and their children Mason, Lillyanne, Kelsie, and Saylor, all of Aracdia, FL.; and his dog Boo Boo. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Richard (Louvern) Conklin, and Gerald (Nancy) Conklin.
A celebration of life will be held later this spring.
