Stanley Zajac

Stanley Zajac, 99, of Bear Lake, PA, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Corry Manor.

He was born on June 27, 1925, in Grindstone, PA, a son of the late Frank Zajac Sr and Mary (Baron) Zajac.

Stanley moved to Corry as a young boy with his family and attended local elementary schools and Corry High School. As a young man, he served with the US Army in the European Theatre during WWII and was a purple heart recipient. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the area and worked for Corry Aero Supply Co. and General Electric in Erie. He then started at Corry Jamestown Corp. where he worked as a welder for over 42 years, retiring in the early 1990’s.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church and recently St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Stanley enjoyed vegetable gardening, traveling with family, hunting and just being together with his family.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Sadowski) Zajac, whom he married in May of 1952; five sisters, Frances Tidd, Mary Frank, Bertha King, Helen Kurt and Sophie Kurnava and four brothers, Joseph, John, Edward and Frank Zajac.

Stanley is survived by three sons, Stan Zajac of Corry, PA, Mark Zajac and Michael Zajac both of Warren, PA; sister, Julia Zienka of Mentor, OH; brother, George (Pauline) Zajac of Harborcreek, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 17 at Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA from 4 pm until the time of the funeral service there at 6 pm.

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Corry, PA.
