Readers’ Speak
In the rough
Dear Editor,
What political advantage does Donald Trump have over Vice President Kamala Harris by discussing golf legend Arnold Palmers’ genitals on national TV? Is it mental sickness or fatigue?
As much as I dislike Trump I feel absolute sorrow for him. A grown man who is running for president of the United States of America, resorts to this type of discourse at a political rally. He should fire his political adviser and submit to psychotherapy.
His subconscious words are appalling as are his multitude of lies.

Standing for us
Dear Editor,
You may hate Donald Trump because of his big mouth, or whatever, but he did a lot to help our country.
They say he put us $8 trillion dollars more in debt, but at least it was for a lot of good things: like rebuilding our military, building most of what he could build on the border wall, Space Force, helping our veterans and supporting our police. He also kept Iran and other terrorists in control with sanctions. There were many other good things he did like supporting the NRA.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris also put us another $8 trillion in debt. Here are some of what they wasted our money on: inviting about 20 million foreigners into our country from everywhere. Many thousands are terrorists from China, Iran, Russia, etc., giving them everything free, things most of us can’t afford. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands of Americans and veterans are living on our streets wondering where their next meal will come from. They want to give everyone free college, sex changes, $25,000 for a down payment on a house, no more drilling and fracking; they also want all electric cars, trucks, buses, and even tanks. They hurt us by the way they left Afghanistan, stopped work on the border wall, closed the pipeline to Alaska, defunded the police, and many other things.
Harris is changing her mind on everything. If she wins she will continue to do everything I mentioned above and more like coming for our guns. She will not be able to stand up to world leaders. I don’t know of anything she and Biden have done to help our country.
I feel Trump’s four years in office put us in better shape than we’ve been in years. If he would have won his next four years he would have balanced our budget and started paying off our national debt.
How? By drilling for more gas and oil, not buying it from our enemies. He would be selling it to our friends. He would make other countries pay their fair share on everything. He would stop all these wars, saving us billions of dollars, and many lives, too.
Who else could go through what he has endured just because he loves this country? Who could keep fighting and going after being dragged through all the court cases, the fake lies, losing millions of his own dollars, and now nearly being assassinated twice? After all that, he’s still fighting for us.
We need Trump badly, so please get out and vote. You might think your single vote won’t help much, but it might cancel out an illegal vote for Harris.
This election might be the last chance we have to take our country back and make America great again. I don’t think we can take another four years of this.

Welcome option
Dear Editor,
Six Republican members of Congress from Pennsylvania, including Glenn G.T. Thompson, Mike Kelly and Scott Perry, are suing to have Pennsylvania military overseas ballots set aside in this election. According to Peter Hall of the Penn-Capital Star of Oct. 10 they contend that Pennsylvania violates federal election law by failing to verify the identities of service members. PA Department of State guidelines say military voters and their spouses are exempt from voter identification and eligibility verification requirements.
The suit was filed two weeks after ballots started being mailed to overseas military for voting. This is a repeat of litigation filed in 2020 intended to throw out votes in that election.
A hearing was held in US District Court in Harrisburg on Oct. 18. I will try to follow this case at info@votevets.org.
This is one good reason to consider Thompson’s challenger in the Nov. 5 election, a young man from Phillipsburg, Zach Womer, who is on the ballot.
