Tidioute rallies past Sheffield
Tidioute bested Sheffield in five sets on Tuesday, 14-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 15-11, rallying from a 2-0 deficit.
Leading the winners were Kelsey Nuttall (3 kills, 11 digs), Shelby Proctor (1 ace, 4 kills, 1 block, 1 assist, 23 digs), Nakiesha Krouse (1 ace, 17 kills, 3 assists, 11 digs), Jenna Hunt (2 digs, 2 kills, 1 block, 7 digs), Angelina Sabella (1 ace, 2 kills, 1 block, 21 digs), Andreya Curtin (1 ace, 15 assists, 8 digs) and Aspen Fors (4 assists, 2 digs).
Marissa Grubbs (28 digs), Megan Johnson (19 assists, 15 digs), Annabel Sheldon (18 digs, 6 kills), Emily Leichtenberger (9 kills playing middle hitter) and Tori Childress (5 blocks) paced Sheffield.
“Clearly this is not the way we wanted to end our season,” said Sheffield coach Melissa Lemay. “We had to some rearranging and were a little out of sorts. We have a lot of talent but when that talent isn’t willing to work harder than the other team, the success isn’t going to come.
Sheffield won the JV match, 25-16, 25-17.
Leading Sheffield were Lexi Goldthwaite (10 aces, 5 assists), Alexa Whipple (3 kills) and Caidence Anderson (5 digs).
Julia Blake (1 ace, 2 kills), Natalie Valentine (1 ace, 1 dig), Andreya Curtin (1 ace, 4 assist, 1 dig), Kaylin Franks (1 ace, 1 dig), Lexis Drukenbrod (5 digs) and Skyla Daelhousen (1 ace, 2 kills, 1 dig) paced Tidioute.
