McDowell snaps Lady Dragons’ win streak
ERIE — McDowell held Warren’s girls basketball team to single digits in 3 of 4 quarters in a 48-35 Region 6 victory on Friday.
The hosts avenged a January loss to Warren and snapped the Lady Dragons’ 6-game winning streak.
“We struggled,” said Warren coach Lisa LaVan. “McDowell was better than us, for sure. Much deeper than us.”
Senior Emma Ruhlman scored 15 of Warren’s 35 points, including 8 of the Dragons’ 15 first-half points.
McDowell’s Alexis Marsh had three 3-pointers in the second quarter and the Trojans led by 13 at halftime.
Warren is 16-4 overall and now 8-2 in the region behind first-place Villa Maria. McDowell is 10-6 overall and 6-4 in Region 6.
