Beaty Warren Middle School volleyball finishes season strong

Beaty Warren Middle School’s seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams put on a solid finish to the season on Saturday with first- and second-place finishes at the Commodore Perry Tournament.

Last week, the seventh-graders wrapped up an undefeated season, beating Sheffield, 25-8 and 25-11, Oil City, 25-5 and 25-13, and following that up with a tournament championship at Commodore Perry going 10-0 and defeating Slippery Rock in the finals, 25-17 and 26-24.

The eighth-grade team beat Sheffield, 25-12, 19-25, 25-17, and 25-16, and then Oil City, 25-9, 25-7, and 25-8, then took second place at Commodore Perry eighth-grade tournament. The eighth-graders finished 9-2 on the day, the only set losses coming in a hard fought 3-2 (14-25, 25-14, and 8-15) loss to Slippery Rock in the finals. The eighth-grade team finished with a 9-1 overall record on the regular season.
