Dragons take second place in 7-on-7

The Warren Dragons football team entered the 19-team Corry 7-on-7/ Lineman Challenge tournament and finished 5-2, which was good for second place. Round-robin play saw Warren beat Ft. LeBouef 13-12 and Girard 27-10 and losing to Conneaut 14-6. But once the single-elimination tournament got started, the Dragons caught fire. They defeated Iroquois 23-12, Mercyhurst Prep 22-8 and Oil City in the semi finals 16-10. State powerhouse Cathedral Prep beat Warren in the finals 20-7 “Exceptionally pleased with our efforts is the best way our coaching staff can sum up our second-place finish,” said Warren head coach Mark Morelli, “This is a nice confidence booster for our kids as we get prepared for the upcoming season. They deserve a lot of credit for their play on the field.” Eisenhower finished in the top eight.
