On Friday, the Lady Dragons swept visiting Bradford, 7-0, at Betts Park to move to 4-0 overall.

“(It) was a special match as we chose to have our senior night a bit early this season,” said Warren coach Thomas Pellegrino. “We have a great relationship with the Bradford team and coaching staff, so figured it would be great to honor both teams’ seniors together.

“This was a special night because Warren had eight seniors and Bradford had five,” he added. “Both teams managed to get all seniors some match play tonight and, of course, it’s always nice grabbing a ‘W’ in the process.”

The Dragons swept the board in singles match play with Iris Kiehl, Mary Gerace, Lucy Harrison, and Natasha Ferry all pulling out wins.

In doubles match play, the Warren pairs of Izzy Heacox and Mackenzie Lester, Winnie Wolf and Kaelin Hatfield, and Ella Card and Alannah Garza all recorded wins for Warren.

“Moving to 4-0 on the year is a nice confidence-builder for our girls going into (today’s) region match against reigning AAA D10 champions Fairview,” said Pellegrino. “Fairview beat us 5-0 both times last year, so we are excited for the challenge and ready for our first big test. We know this is going to be an absolute battle and we’ll need to be playing our best tennis if we want to pull off the win.”

The match with Fairview will begin at 10 a.m. at Betts tennis courts.
