RUSSELL — The Eisenhower Knights had little trouble this past Saturday when Erie East visited for a rare afternoon match.
It was the last home match for five Knights senior wrestlers and the team responded with a 66-12 win on the mat.
Eisenhower had four wrestlers win by pin; Rever Caudill at 107 pounds, Ryan Chambers at 133 pounds, Cole Kellogg at 152 pounds and Tucker Lindell at 160 pounds.
“I thought we came out and wrestled very well today,” Eisenhower head coach Jared Lindell said. “It was good seeing the seniors go out with a solid win. We will certainly miss those guys next year.”
The Knights would have liked to have had a few more matches on the mat as they prepare for the postseason. They had seven wrestlers win by forfeit on Saturday: Bryn Lindell at 107 pounds, Griffin Williams at 121 pounds, Nakita Nelson at 127 pounds, Derek Childs at 145 pounds, Bryceton Wilkins at 172 pounds, Corey Bunce at 215 pounds and JJ Darr at 285 pounds.
