ERIE — Warren’s girls golf team finished third at Wednesday’s season-opening Region 3 Mega Match at JC Martin Golf Course.

McDowell finished first in the opener with a team score of 250. Fort LeBoeuf was second at 265, followed by Warren’s 272. Erie High was a distant fourth at 304 and Meadville shot 317.

Cassidy Conn from Fort LeBouf was medalist with 77 and then Genelia Kang from McDowell with an 81. Maddie Walker led the way for Warren with an 89 followed by Allie Lauffenburger’s 91, Kate Shippee’s 92, JoJo Gray’s 106 and Elissa Errett’s 110.

The Lady Dragons are returning all seven players from last year along with two new players for this year’s team. The team consists of five seniors — Walker, Lexi Paris, Marisa Palmieri, Lauffenburger and Katharine Smith — along with three juniors — Errett, Gray and Maelee Mandeviile. Shippee is a sophomore.
