The Eisenhower football team (4-4 overall, 2-2 in region 3) returns home this evening to welcome first-place Mercyhurst Prep (5-3, 4-0 in Region 3) on Senior Night.

The Knights will have a big task in front of them as the Lakers average 6-foot, 2 inches and 246 pounds on their offensive line, but Ike head coach Jim Penley believes his team is ready.

“The key to their team is a big and physical line,” he said. “They’re very experienced and do a great job running their schemes against any defense. We have to find a way to scheme up some way to control the line of scrimmage, which will be a difficult task. Our guys just have to want it more. They know what to do.”

Mercyhurst Prep will bring a young, but fast, backfield into the game and use a rotation of runners.

“They have some fine young runners who use their line well,” Penley said.

Eisenhower continues to be led by their juniors. Logan Penley has rushed for 645 yards and six touchdowns while quarterback Caleb Jakubczak has 580 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. He has also thrown for 486 yards and four TDs.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with senior ceremonies starting at 6:30 p.m.

Starting at $2.99/week.
