Officials given proper send-off
Prior to Friday night’s Warren vs. North East District 10 football game at War Memorial Field, longtime PIAA football officials Lou Vizza (second from left) and Jack Werner (middle) were each recognized at their final game “as members of the Massa/Santo Chapter of football officials with over 70 years of dedicated service. These two men have shown unwavering commitment, stepping onto the field for more than 1,000 games at the varsity, junior varsity, and junior high levels, along with well over 100 playoff contests. Their expertise and leadership have guided countless players and coaches alike, providing a strong foundation for the game we all cherish. Among their many achievements, Jack and Lou have had the distinct honor of officiating a combined five PIAA state final games — a testament to their skill and respect within the officiating community. Beyond their roles as officials, they have also been coaches and mentors for the youth of Warren County for more than four decades,” according to the dedication.
